Our Fog Dance Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are from our organically farmed, estate-owned Pinot Noir vineyard on the rolling hills located just to the east of Green Valley Creek in the Russian River Valley. This gorgeous Pinot Noir vineyard was planted in 1996 upon Goldridge fine sandy loam soils to several Dijon clones: 667, 777 and 115. The stunningly beautiful Chardonnay vineyard was planted in 1998 using Dijon Chardonnay Clone 96 and ENTAV 809.
The Fog Dance Vineyard is thus called because of the dance performed by the Pacific fog, drifting through the vineyards and back again to the sea each day.
Wines From This Vineyard
"Coming from the Green Valley region of the Russian River, the 2016 Chardonnay Fog Dance Vineyard was fermented and aged in just 17% new French oak, with the balance all in used barrels. It's an exotic, melon, brioche, and citrus pith-scented effort that has a touch of reduction that lends a beautiful sense of complexity. Rich and powerful on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness, nicely integrated acidity, and a big finish, it's another wine that has one foot in the Russian River and one foot in Burgundy." - Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com, June 2019
"The medium to dark-ruby colored 2016 Hartford Court Pinot Noir Fog Dance Vineyard simply sings of black cherry pie, freshly crushed blackberries and pomegranate with hints of spice cake, dark chocolate and sassafras. Medium to full-bodied, rich and spicy in the mouth, it fills the palate with decadent black berries and a velvety texture, finishing on a lingering peppery note." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker Wine Advocate, October 2018
