Hailey's Block Pinot Noir is located within the prestigious Arrendell Vineyard and is named after founders Don & Jenny Hartford's daughter Hailey. The block was planted over 20 years ago to Dijon clones 114 and 777 at a time when Hailey was just six years old. Over time, we have watched both Hailey and her namesake Pinot Noir mature into personalities of great strength, beauty and charm.
Arrendell Vineyard and Hailey’s Block sits in arguably the coldest spot in the Green Valley sub-appellation of the Russian River Valley AVA. The cold meso-climate that results from cool air settling in the low-lying vineyard preserves natural acidity in the grapes and helps preserve the purity and expression of the unique terroir in this beautiful Pinot Noir.
Wines From This Vineyard
"From the cooler Green Valley region of the Russian River, the 2015 Pinot Noir Hailey’s Block was completely destemmed and spent 16 months in 27% new French oak. Hailey's Block is a block within the Arrendell Vineyard, named after Don and Jennifer Hartford's daughter. It’s another beautifully Burgundian wine from this estate that offers crisp black cherry, crushed rock, charcoal, and wood smoke aromas and flavors. It’s fresh, focused, and youthful, with fine tannin and high yet integrated acidity. Give it a year or three and it will keep for a decade or more." - Jeb Dunnuck, June 2018
