"Medium golden yellow, the 2023 Chardonnay Far Coast Vineyard is from vines grown at 600-1000 feet elevation on the West Sonoma Coast. The nose is more savory and more coastal, with notes of sea spray, crushed shells, zesty Meyer lemon, and green pear. The palate is focused and medium-bodied, with a ripe core as well as hints of sweet vanilla and spice coming through on the finish. Give it another year in bottle to come together and drink over the following 8-10 years. " - Audrey Frick, jebdunnuck.com, July 2025
Tasting Notes
This vintage of the Far Coast Vineyard Chardonnay exhibits aromas of orange zest, yellow apple, dried fruits, and spice. The flavors of tangerine, mandarin orange, and quince are followed by a long textural finish of minerals and delicate fruit.

Vineyard & Vintage Character
Our Far Coast Vineyard is a cool site surrounded by redwood forests, almost two hours north of the Russian River on a Sonoma Coast mountain ridge. It is an area that some call the ‘True Sonoma Coast.’ Others would simply describe the distant vineyard site as ‘the middle of nowhere.’ Far Coast Vineyard sits just south of the town of Annapolis at 800-1000 feet above sea level. The soils at this ridge-top site are well-drained Goldridge sandy loam, which helps to intensify the sense of minerality and focus in the wine produced from this vineyard. This wine was produced from a block planted to Clones 15 and 809.
