"The 2018 Pinot Noir Hailey's Block comes from a cooler section of the Russian River Valley (it comes from a small block in the Arrendell Vineyard) and it shows, with the wine offering a darker, more herbal, sappy style in its black cherry and mulberry fruits as well as candied violet, spice, and spring flower-like aromas and flavors. As with all these 2018s from Hartford Court, the palate is spot on, and it has incredible purity of fruit, flawless tannins, and a great, great finish.." Jeb Dunnuck, jebdunnuck.com, July 2021

Tasting Notes
Red and black cherries, wild berry, allspice and floral aromas accent the wine and are followed by bright blue fruits, candied cherry notes and subtle earthy flavors that carry through on the palate. Full bodied, silky tannins complete the savory finish.

Vineyard & Vintage Character
Hailey’s Block is located within our oldest property, the Arrendell Vineyard, and is named after Don and Jennifer Hartford’s daughter, Hailey. The block was planted in 1996 to Dijon selections 114 and 777 of Pinot Noir when Hailey was just six years old. Over the years, we have watched both Hailey and her namesake Pinot Noir mature into personalities of great strength, beauty, and charm.
Hailey’s Block sits in arguably the coldest spot in the Green Valley sub-appellation of the Russian River Valley AVA. The cold meso-climate that results from cool air settling in this low-lying vineyard preserves natural acidity in the grapes and helps preserve the pure expression of the unique terroir in this beautiful release.
