94 POINTS -
"A youthful magenta/ruby color, the 2023 Zinfandel Winberrie Knolls Vineyard is fruity on the nose with pure notes of raspberry cordial, dark berries, floral perfume, and dark stones. The palate is zesty and fresh, with vibrant, refreshing acidity, fine, coiled tannins, and a clean finish with hints of strawberries. It’s very pretty and is going to drink well over the coming 8-10 years." - Audrey Frick, jebdunnuck.com, July 2025

Tasting Notes
The 2023 Winberrie Knolls shows classic raspberry Zinfandel fruit expression and the vintage is especially intense in red cherry, red plum and an elegance of fruit expression unique to the Russian River Valley. The flavors carry intense red cherry, blueberry and delicate spice components that lead into a supple finish with silky tannins and beautiful finesse.

Vineyard & Vintage Character
Winberrie Knolls is crafted from three contiguous vineyard sites that belong to Don and Jenny Hartford’s neighbors. The vineyards are in the heart of the Russian River Valley and were planted in 1906. These old vine plantings are another testament to the long history of amazing Russian River Zinfandels, and we are excited to share with you our second release!
These vines, trained in the traditional wagon wheel style, are planted on Huichica loam soils. The moderately sloped sites drain well and produce wines with juicy fruit characters and a broad, fruit-driven and silky mouthfeel.
