"Taking things to the next level, the 2018 Syrah Outer Limits is highly aromatic and expansive in its aromas of pine sap, black cherry preserve, black pepper, and wild lavender. "Pouring a golden yellow, the 2021 Chardonnay Radian Vineyard brings forward pure, fresh aromatics of candied lime citrus, well-managed oak spice, and wet stone. Mediumbodied, with a cleansing mineral texture and fresh lift, it’s fresh with green melon, bright acidity, a light saline note, and a hint of crushed earth. The 2022 Fog Dance Vineyard Pinot Noir is medium ruby-purple in color. Notes of black raspberries, blood orange, and redcurrant jelly pop from the glass, giving way to nuances of graphite, underbrush, and garrigue. The medium to full-bodied palate is tightly wound and intense, with fantastic tension and super fine-grained tannins, finishing long and savory. Native strains were used for alcoholic and malolactic fermentation and the wine is unfined and unfiltered. "The 2022 Velvet Sisters Pinot Noir is medium ruby-purple in color. Wow! The nose is pure violets and rose oil, leading to a core of wild blueberries, Morello cherries, and crushed rocks with a touch of wild thyme. "The 2022 Fanucchi Wood Road Zinfandel Old Vine is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of juicy blackberries and baked plums on the nose open out to suggestions of unsmoked cigars, dried rose, tilled soil, and wild fungi. The full-bodied palate is dense and muscular, with a rock solid structure of grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and earthy. The vines were planted over 100 years ago and have been trained up to chest level to increase air circulation and sun exposure for the berries. True to its Carneros roots, the 2020 Sevens Bench Chardonnay carries the hallmark of the region – fruit intensity balanced by good acidity. That fruit style follows in the flavors, with the citrus focus carrying through with candied lemon drop balanced by the mineral and flint characteristics inherent to the region and the clonal selections. "I always seem to find a tropical slant in Chardonnay from Carneros, and the 2018 Chardonnay Sevens Bench Vineyard has it in spades, with ample pineapple, honeyed peach, pear, and toasted spice-like aromas and flavors. This is another balanced, rich, medium to full-bodied Chardonnay from this estate that's loaded with character. Drink it over the coming 5-7 years.
