94 Points -
"A just fantastic cool-climate white, the 2023 Chardonnay Marin County is energetic and textured, with medium-bodied layers of creamy tropical fruit and lovely acidity. From an area just south of Sonoma County, close to the Pacific Ocean, it offers subtle notes of white flower and Meyer lemon, a fantastic wine from this always stellar producer. Drink now through 2033." - Virginie Boone, jebdunnuck.com, February 2026
Tasting Notes
This Chardonnay exhibits aromas of grilled citrus and pineapple, opening with time into dried flowers and lemon verbena. Vivid flavors of citrus, pear, and a focused texture are driven by the cool conditions and naturally low-yielding vines from this unique growing site.

Vineyard & Vintage Character
2023 was another interesting season in the cool climate of Marin County, with extended ripening and flavor development due to the later-than-normal harvest date. This wine is sourced from a small, dry-farmed vineyard on rolling hills in an area of Marin that has been home to cattle and dairies for the last century. Today, there are small vineyard sites scattered across Marin that are producing very interesting and distinct fruit.
