2005 Hartford Court Pinot Noir
Sevens Bench Vineyard, Carneros
Tasting Notes
Aromas of raspberries, plums and sandalwood converge with exotic East Asian spices and earth elements to produce an amazingly complex wine. Wonderfully lush in the mouth with pomegranate, black cherry and spice flavors, framed by sweet, generous tannins. This wine of astounding concentration and depth should continue to improve in bottle for 6 to 8 years.
Acclaim
93 Points - "The 2005 Pinot Noir Sevens Bench is a richer, fleshier species of Pinot Noir, with hints of spring flowers intermixed with black cherry and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied with good acidity, outstanding ripeness, and
a long, layered finish, it is a beautiful Pinot for drinking over the next 4-6 years."
Robert M. Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate, December 2007

Vineyard Characteristics
The 2005 Sevens Bench Pinot Noir is our sixth release from this estate, Carneros AVA vineyard. Low yields, high-density spacing and intensive farming are all essential elements in crafting this evocative wine. Our Sevens Bench Vineyard is a small vineyard block on Duhig Road in Napa-Carneros. The name Sevens Bench is derived from the two predominant clones, Dijon 667 and Dijon 777, planted at the vineyard. These Dijon
clones produce a wine with intense fruit aromas, an expansive mid-palate and fine-grain tannins.
