2007 Hartford Court Pinot Noir
Land's Edge Vineyards, Sonoma Coast

Hartford Family Wines - Pinot Noir Tasting Notes
Complex aromas of ripe cherries, violets and cedar are followed by flavors of perfectly ripe, firm black cherries and mixed red and black berries. Allspice and coffee notes complement a long, multi-faceted finish in this "True Sonoma Coast" Pinot Noir.

Acclaim
94 Points - "A blend of various vineyards from the far or true Sonoma Coast, and also Hartford Court's highest-production Pinot Noir. Always beautiful and balanced, the '07 in particular is remarkable for its silky tannins and overall seamless quality. Really excites for the complexity of currant, cola, licorice and cedar flavors. Now through 2013." - Steve Heimoff, Wine Enthusiast, July 2009

91+ Points - "Bright red. Cherry-cola, raspberry and vanilla bean on the nose. Smoky dark berry flavors are enlivened by zesty minerals and pick up a candied floral quality with air. This packs a lot of flavor, but needs time to stretch out. Becomes deeper and chewier with air and finishes with solid grip and powerful thrust." - Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar,, May 2009

Vineyard Character
Land’s Edge Pinot Noir is sourced predominately from our estate’s Annapolis vineyard, located in the Sonoma Coastal Mountain Range – north of the Russian River, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Because there is only one cascading ridge between the ocean and the vineyard, Annapolis vineyard and other estate owned vineyards located at ‘Land’s Edge’, such as Seascape vineyard, are so cold that miniscule crops of Pinot Noir are often picked here in November. This cool and often foggy, coastal climate preserves natural acidity in the grapes and helps delineate the purity of fruit flavors and expression of the unique, yet firm coastal terroir in this wine. Balanced acidity, layers of complexity and firm tannins will allow for long and graceful aging of Land’s Edge Vineyards Pinot Noir.
