2005 Hartford Zinfandel
Jolene's Vineyard, Russian River Valley
Sold Out
Tasting Notes
This old-vine Zinfandel provides alluring aromas and flavors of ripe black cherries, blackberry and vanilla. Jolene’s texture is rich and mouth-filling with supple tannins and a long and lingering finish.
Vineyard Character
Jolene’s Vineyard, located along Wood Road in Sonoma County, takes its name from a merging of the first names of the owners of Maffei Vineyards – Joanne and Arlene. This venerable vineyard joined the Hartford Zinfandel portfolio in 2004 as a single vineyard offering and as an important component of our Russian River Valley Zinfandel old-vine blend. Some blocks within this vineyard are over 105 years old, and it is rare for such an old Russian River Valley
Zinfandel vineyard to be planted almost exclusively with Zinfandel selections. Most old-vine Zinfandel vineyards in the area are ‘field’ or ‘spice’ blends that also include small amounts of Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouchet and red Rhône varietals.
