Bright aromas of Rangpur limes and creamy peach supported by juicy yellow apple, Mandarin orange and Meyer lemon flavors. Fine grained tannins complement a long mineral finish in this small batch, inaugural vintage release.
- "More orange rind, tropical fruit blossoms and citrus oil characteristics are found in the 2009 Chardonnay Fog Dance Vineyard. Like its siblings, it is kept in barrel for approximately 15months prior to being bottled unfiltered. It, too, should drink nicely for 3-4 years." - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, February 2011
- "Vivid yellow-gold. Floral, mineral-accented nose displays fresh orchard fruits, spices and a strong jasmine quality. Shapely and focused, with noteworthy purity and cut to its pear, nectarine and floral favors. Fine-grained and gripping on the back end, finishing pure, stony and very long. Quite concentrated and tactile but there's nothing heavy about this…" - Josh Raynolds Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, June 2011

2009, the inaugural vintage of Fog Dance Vineyard Chardonnay, was a very concentrated and low yielding vintage in Green Valley of Russian River Valley. The wine is sourced from a block in our estate owned, organically farmed vineyard. This stunningly beautiful vineyard was planted in 1998 to Dijon Chardonnay clones 95 and 96 with a couple of rows of the Dijon Chardonnay 809 clone. It is planted upon the locally famous Goldridge fine sandy loam soil (sometimes referred to as "moon dust" due to its ultra-fine and almost "fluffy" texture). The 2009 Fog Dance Vineyard, Green Valley Chardonnay is named for the dance performed by the Pacific fog, drifting through the vineyards and back again to the sea each day. This wine reflects its cool Green Valley terroir, showing fresh fruit brightness and amazing transparency along with a refined and mineral driven texture.
