Aromas of black plum and cedar are interwoven with flavors of grenadine, red cherries and soy in this amazingly complex and elegant Pinot Noir. Wonderfully lush in the mouth and framed by sweet, generous tannins, this is a wine of astounding concentration and depth and should continue to improve in bottle for 6 to 8 years.
- "Vivid red. Sexy, highly perfumed bouquet of strawberry, raspberry, potpourri and minerals, with a bright note of blood orange gaining strength with air. Impressively pure, with fresh red berry and floral flavors and a seductive sweetness. The finish strongly echoes the raspberry note and leaves a tangy trail of minerals and candied flowers behind. The wine's intriguing blend of sweet and tangy should make it extremely flexible at the table." - Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, June 2010
"The Cote's de Beaune premier cru-styled 2008 Pinot Noir Seven's Bench Vineyard comes from Dijon clones 667 and 777. It offers a dark ruby color, medium body and abundant aromas of vanilla, sassafras, pomegranate and sweet and sour cherries. It possesses more charm and flesh than the Hailey's Block and both cuvees are best consumed during their first 3-5 years of life." - Robert Parker, Jr., Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, June 2010

The 2008 Sevens Bench Vineyard Pinot Noir is our eighth release from our estate, Carneros AVA vineyard. Low yields, high-density spacing and intensive farming are all essential elements in crafting this evocative wine. Our Sevens Bench Vineyard is a small vineyard block on Duhig Road in Napa-Carneros and is very close to Saintsbury's Brown Ranch and Shafer's Red Shoulder Ranch. The name Sevens Bench is derived from the two predominate clones, Dijon 667 and Dijon 777, planted at the vineyard. These Dijon clones produce a wine with intense fruit aromas, an expansive mid-palate, and fine-grain tannins
